4 Key Tactics for Winning as Protoss in Starcraft 2 Competitive Gaming
I consider the Protoss to be an intermediate-level class. They are quite easy to play with, and you will do well just with the tier 1 and 2 combat units. Take this quick outline as a beginning point for your Starcraft 2 Protoss Strategy. While they are not as simple to play with as the Terrans, it is easier using the Protoss than the Zerg. Build Quickly
The Protoss are the quickest builders from the 3 accessible classes in StarCraft 2, and it is most surely something you can use to your benefit. What is completely unique concerning the Protoss is they do not really build anything at all, rather, it’s teleported upon the battlefield from their home planet. Rather than building, probes simply have to summon a structure, after which they are able to move onwards into a fresh task. However, the down-side to this is that all Protoss structures need to be placed close to pylons.
Finish Strongly
The Protoss will also be the strongest class later on in a game, and have several excellent superior units offered. If given time, they are able to put together massively powerful combative force. Alternatively, the Protoss could summon a massed army very fast by making use of its warp gates.
Use your defenses
The very best automated defensive structure in StarCraft 2 is the sole control of the Protoss, the photon cannon. Not only can it assault ground combat units, it features detection capabilities. When you get up to 150 minerals, the photon cannon is potent enough to stop many forms of bothering enemies, such as reapers or the dark templar.
One and only thing to watch out for is that you don’t depend too heavily on the photon cannon. Several gamers make the mistake of creating a lot of photon cannons and not sufficient mobile units!
Beginning tactics
The largest weak spot you’ll find whenever using the Protoss is they are extremely sluggish starters. As a result, it’s very easy to be rushed at the beginning. Things for example gateways take a shateringly very long time to build, while zealots are slower to create when comparing reapers and zerglings. And also if you actually have lots of zealots, they may be very easily conquered by a much more qualified adversary.
The top beginning strategy with the Protoss then, is to rapidly get yourself a gateway followed by the cybernetics core, to help you obtain a stalker or two.
Other thing you will learn any time playing Protoss is that not only are you quickly rushed, but you can be harassed very easily too, particularly where your mineral collecting operations are. Zerg players have a tendency to mass large numbers of zerglings and constantly attack your probes, while the Terrans use reaper units to perform the same thing.
During these moments, there are two things you can do to protect yourself. You can either get some good cannons and protect the mineral base with them, or you can try to tech as quickly as possible, so that you can build advanced units like stalkers.
Both options have disadvantages though, as building cannons will slow your technical development plus your manufacture of units. Otherwise, attempting to climb the tech tree as quickly as you can may make you wide open to being rushed. Maybe a well balanced strategy is best!
The only real option for Protoss players then, is to scout the opponent as soon as possible, and try to work out what his next move will be. Only then can you prepare yourself, either producing cannons or going for stalkers. The key to winning with the Protoss is to start off with a strong defense, and wait until your tech level has advanced enough to be able to fight back!

Starcraft 2 Protoss Strategy
If there was a game of the year, Starcraft would be it for every year. It is the only game to have multiple tv channels based on it with various leagues which feature live matches. In South Korea it is a national sport which has many professional teams and is considered a multi-million dollar industry. In recent years Starcraft 2 has has spotlight attention as the sequel to the famous Starcraft brood war. Like in South Korea its successes in North America and Europe has been comparably to it previous counterpart. Now millions of players world-wide are playing Starcraft which has been a mainstream and de facto international e-sports game.
Although Starcraft 2 is the sequel to Starcraft brood war, it’s characteristics are far from the same as the later. In many ways there are very close similarities but there are also very distinct game mechanics which defines Starcraft 2. As shown by example from the famous Terran emperor(Boxer), Starcraft 2 is a completely different game because even though the has been many world renown leagues such as the GSL;Boxer has not won any of them. This is the same Boxer who has won world championship 4 times running and has made Starcraft the e-sports game it is now.
Starcraft 2 has major differences compared to the original. Although there maybe parallels between the two, they are entirely separate games. The original Starcraft had many flaws due to the development abilities during the 1990′s era. We had moved on and two decades later the Starcraft sequel was born which featured many improvements such as the simplification of micro/macro and new design philosophies.
Therefore you cannot assume that strategies and tricks from the original can be sptransfered over. What this implies is that the game has to be rediscovered; this is exemplified by the recent main stream build orders which has been created. These build orders by the way were completely different from the original. Many strategies and tricks that have been found are also hidden away from mainstream players. This is where guides come in, these guides are written by dedicated players who constantly test out strategies. By using these guides you be ome up to date with the game with very little effort.
In game theory which is the study of how games are won, knowledge is a key part in winning your games. But often knowledge is only gained by the dedication to the game. So even though your opponents are not in the same skill level as you, they may still win due to the amount of time they put into that game. With Starcraft guides though, this factor can be eliminated.By giving you the knowledge you need to know, you can win your current games and allow you to be placed in the division which actually your skill level not the time you put into the game. Thus allowing you to enjoy the game even more.

FU#1
To the people who have to hack and cheat just to win in an online game.
WTF is your problem?
These cheaters are retards because the spoil the fun for everyone playing the game, including themselves, so what’s the point?! They will also never get any better at the game because they’re never going to understand the game and are gonna have to rely on their little hacks just to compete, how pathetic!
FU#2
L-A-G
Lag during an online game. If you lag, then fix your connection or buy a better computer! You would think that with all the new technology available and the next generation being such spoiled brats, that people could at least afford something better than a 56k modem!
FU#3
Don’t play an online game unless you know how to play or have played the single player first! Nobody wants a noob who doesn’t know what the they are doing on their team! So if you don’t want to be called a noob, play the single player game first and learn how to play before going online!
FU#4
Users who BACKSTAB and KILL THEIR OWN TEAM MATES during games! Again wtf is the point!? Users who backstab are douche nozzles because they sit at their computers all day killing their team instead of learning how to legitimately play the game!
FU#5
OK people STOP MAKING EXCUSES when you lose or die in an online game. NO the other person is not a hacker, the other person didn’t cheat, your team mates were NOT noobs, your connection wasn’t bad, you just lost and were beat fair and square. So LIVE WITH IT, DEAL WITH IT, and learn how to take a loss you poor sport!
FU#6
Spam bots that flood the game chat rooms with useless bullshit. Why can’t we ever escape spam!? NOOO I don’t want to win a million dollars, win a hot date, or claim my prize because you’re not going to actually give it to me dammit!
FU#7
Users who go around stealing other people’s kills and items. Stealing experience, stats, and items from other users online is a new low. Learn how to earn your own the real way, and while your at it learn how to play the game by yourself without having to leech off of others!
FU#8
Shit talkers and extremely cocky players in online games. First off, stop being cocky? Who gives a if you’ve been playing longer or know more. Secondly, its ok to talk smack, but some users just over do it. Just shut the up and let your playing do the talking for you! And if any of you get your kicked, don’t continue to talk to the other player! I mean they just kicked your ass, so it makes no sense to continue to talk crap to them. Also, don’t even think about calling a person who just killed you a noob! Think about it, they just killed you and your calling them a noob, you know what that means? It means your saying you just got OWNED by a noob, dumbass.
FU#9
Microphone abuse! Like when little kids are going around screaming and swearing; or when people can’t just keep quiet and play. And the ventrilo harassment on the vent talking system has got to stop. It was funny at first when users played sound bites on the ventrilo talk, but now its just old and retarded. Not everyone who plays online games is a nerd, and none of them deserved to be harassed by sound bites. So leave the players alone, let them play their game, and have fun!
FU#10
Its ok to play games, but its never ok for people to play games 16 hours straight! If you thought crack addicts were bad just take a look at some of the video game addicts. Come on people, wake up! Take a break and get off your computer before your eyes go blind, your brain goes numb, and before your social life goes plummeting down to the depths of hell.
FU#11
Stop E-Begging people for money and items in online games! In the time you spent spamming the out of people and begging like a for money, you could have actually played the game and earned money yourself! These beggars will never move up anywhere in the game and they shouldn’t be begging! So stop being lazy! Get off your and start earning your rewards in the game yourself!
FU#12
OK people STOP taking these online games so seriously! I mean you’ve all heard the phrase a million times, “its just a game”, and its called a GAME for a reason. The purpose of these games is to keep people entertained and to give users the fun and enjoyment of playing it. video games and online games are NOT your lives. Its ok to play them, and not everyone who plays games is a nerd so don’t label them. But if your one who plays games all your life, go outside for once and see the rest of the world your missing!
