Stop Playing Homework and Do Your Video Games – A Video Game Quintet

Watch in high quality for extra fun.
You can also follow project status at http://twitter.com/GenPKim
A live performance for Seattle’s Marrowstone in the City program. The music was arranged by the genius Lennart Jansson (Link) and Gen Kim (myself as Ash Ketchum). I choreographed all the extra bits behind us as we play as well as sang the Halo theme, of course. The Tetris bit is a tribute to the old a capella group that did game themes. Lennart is playing an ocarina there, and I’m drumming the top of my violin. Hope you enjoy.

MP3 can be downloaded here:

My personal favorite bit of music is at 3:48. Kirby FTW.

Go ahead and subscribe if you enjoy. I’ll be sure to upload my future film school projects here, starting with my Pokemon/24 mashup radio drama. You read that right.

Order of performance:
The Legend of Zelda
Pokemon
Halo
Tetris
Kirby
Pong
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario World

1st Violin – Koyo Kim (Mario)
2nd Violin – Gen Kim (Ash Ketchum)
Viola – Justine Preston (Luigi)
1st Cello – Lennart Jansson (Link)
2nd Cello – Sarah Stone (Princess Peach)

Evolution of Video Games Epic Medley (Music from 22 video games) Made on Mario Paint Composer

It´s been a while since I uploaded my last MPC video and this video is the reason for that.
This is my biggest MPC project to date, I started this like a year ago but one day my hard drive broke and I lost all my unfinished projects, so about 3 weeks ago I decided to start this medley once again.

This was so much fun to make, I worked for 3 weeks for around 1 or 2 hours per day using the original soundfont, 45 files were used for almost 10 minutes of music.

All of the songs were made by ear, and some by memory and as usual I aimed for creative remixes of each theme and smooth transitions, I tried to give some chronological order to the songs going from the early arcades to the Wii era (I skipped the Gamecube era because I was near the 10 minutes time limit of youtube, I was gonna include Dragon Roost Island and MKDD´s Rainbow Road, maybe next time.

All of the songs included in this medley are from Video games that I grew up playing, so before posting comments like “where´s the PS2 and XBox love?” remember that I´m a big Nintendo fan since I was a child.

Thanks a lot to Levus28 for recording this video for me with great quality.
In case u live under a rock and don´t know who he is here is a link to his channel.

Well, I will edit the description later to add whatever I forgot to mention.

Here is the song list of this medley, if this is your first time watching this video PLEASE DON´T read it, just ignore it and enjoy (I guess I just want to keep the surprise factor for first time listeners).
Enjoy!
