(Episode 3.5) Now on Part 2, since I’ve already talked about the “Classic Survival Horror” genre from Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8NugN_V5QE and addressed about the problems that most people had with the genre, we now take a good look at a game called Resident Evil 4 not only changed the series but “redefined” Survival Horror in general into a third-person shooter. But since its impact has changed the genre in general, many Classic Survival Horror fans are against these changes that it affected scares in video games. And without scares in video games, what’s the point of even calling a game scary or even categorize the genre as “Horror?”

Since a lot of people have been in endless debates about weather or not games are scary anymore, I’m here to give you my analysis/theory of what makes a game “scary” which is the most important part in Horror Games in general. And since a lot of horror games/series lost that feel of being frightening, it is a major problem in both Horror Games & horror gamers alike. I’ve done my best to be as unbiased as I can with this episode of Video Game Genres; making sure I’m not trying to bash your favorite Horror game. So this is my Halloween treat for you all, so Happy Halloween, everybody!
