Please CCP add better multiple monitor support. eg, being able to drag windows onto second monitor and save one of the monitors for combat :D i never use the ingame browser because its easier to have eve in windowed mode, and firefox running on the second monitor

I tried this game last month. While i enjoyed the heck out of it, i decided not to continue based on the fact that people have been playing for so long, it would be hard to catch up without losing my life totally :D

    Well, I really …
Well, I really respect CCP for things like this. They actually labor to improve game play and tools in game; unlike Blizzard where they just produce more of the same like a dysfunctional Xerox trapped in Zangar Marsh lol.

    the issue is always …
    the issue is always exploits.

the stability issue was completely solved due to how eve is implementing the browser. if you are able to run a browser beside your windowed eve client, then you’ll have no problem running the new IGB in your client

The renderer runs as a seperate process, and only passes a texture (of the rendered site) to the igb.

  • terminsane:

    Unless theres yet …
Unless theres yet another buffer overflow exploit for flash

there have been numerous exploits in the past originating from flash itself. If flash is running, then its possible to gain remote access to your computer by exploiting flash. Same goes for every other program that is required to display the page, such as the jpeg interpreter as IE saw not too long ago

  • Jeff55369:

    That’s still not …
That’s still not something you can use for an exploit. If you’re going to make an exploit, it’ll have to be within the JavaScript framework or some other means (flash requires JavaScript to run in browser.)

The only way to use flash for an exploit is through adobe air which would turn it into an .exe which would then allow it to use system resources just like any other .exe. These however don’t run in the browser but on the desktop… so its a non-issue for eve’s browser.

  • Mahkasad:

    Trusted Sites can …
Trusted Sites can access JavaScripts. So you have to manually confirm any site you desire to allow scripts for.

  • Zzylie:

    not only cookies, …
not only cookies, its also shared object files like saved files from flash games, or a friends list. actually nvm its cookies if you look at it diffrent

  • terminsane:

    if you look under …
if you look under the folder:

Documents and Settings \ username \ Application Data \ Macromedia

you will see flash cookies, they are not related to your browser’s cookies at all. when you remove cookies in your browser, these are not touched.

They allow websites to track people easily

  • Jeff55369:

    Flash can’t write …
Flash can’t write to your computer, it has internal security measures to prevent this from happening. JavaScript can however be used to make exploits which they are allowing and even embracing.

The issue isn’t the ability for exploits, the issue is stability… flash takes a lot of resources and becomes unstable within eve client.
